Science Exposé competition
The Science Exposé competition is an annual, state-wide competition open to NSW students from Years 7 to 10. The competition aims to encourage students to think about the potential for science to impact on their future. Science Exposé forms part of Science EXPOsed. The competition is run in collaboration with the NSW Department of Education and Training.
Science Exposé builds on the current Years 7-10 syllabus. Science teachers are encouraged to set the competition as an assessment task. The competition is designed to facilitate outcomes 4.1 to 4.5 and 5.1 to 5.5 in the science Years 7-10 syllabus.
The Science Exposé 2009 competition closed for entries on 28 August 2009. The winners for this year's competition will be announced shortly.
About Science Exposé 2009
To enter the competition, students were asked to:
- Choose a NSW scientist
- Describe their work
- Predict how their work may contribute to the future
The winning entries will be the ones that best communicate how the chosen scientist's work may be applied in the future.
There are two divisions in the competition:
Division One: Open to students currently enrolled in Year 7 or Year 8 at any NSW-based secondary school. Division Two: Open to students currently enrolled in Year 9 or Year 10 at any NSW-based secondary school.
There are two categories in each division:
Category One: Multimedia (Video, web site, PowerPoint or PDF presentation) Category Two: Essay

First Prize
Prize package in each category includes:
- $300 to go to the winning student
- A CSIRO Science Show to visit the school of the winning student. (Maximum of four visits in total. Bookings will be subject to timing, location of the school, availability of programs, and CSIRO terms and conditions).
