Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) Programme Information Seminar

The Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST) and the NSW Office for Science and Medical Research (OSMR) are jointly hosting an information seminar on 10 May 2007 for anyone interested in finding out more about the Cooperative Research Centre (CRC) Programme.

The CRC Programme is an Australian Government-funded initiative which boosts world-class research with the aim of turning scientific innovations into successful new products, services and technologies, making industries more efficient, productive and competitive.CRCs are collaborations between businesses, including Small/Medium Enterprises (SMEs), universities as well as government agencies and other organisations. By bringing these groups together in a centre devoted to research, innovation and education, CRC membership can provide your organisation with access to some of the leading minds in your sector. From July 2007, there will be 57 CRCs operating in Australia in sectors as diverse as information and communications technology, agriculture, medical technology, mining, manufacturing and the environment.

The next CRC selection round is due to open later in 2007. 

The seminar is for people who are interested in learning more about CRCs, and the process of establishing one. It will look at a range of issues and give participants a better understanding of how CRCs currently work and how involvement in a CRC may improve your business outlook. It will feature speakers including industry partners of CRCs, a CEO of a CRC as well as a question and answer session.

The seminar will be held on Thursday 10 May 2007 from 3.00-5.00pm at the Trade and Investment Centre, Department of State and Regional Development, Level 47 MLC Centre, 19 Martin Place, Sydney. The seminar is free of charge, with light refreshments provided.
